Questions

Business & legacy books

I don't have time to write a book. How much of my time does this actually take?

A handful of interview sessions — typically an hour or two at a time, scheduled entirely around your diary. Early mornings, evenings, between meetings, or in a couple of concentrated blocks if that suits you better. Beyond the interviews and reading the draft, your involvement is close to zero. That is the whole point: we built this for people whose calendars are already full.

Who owns the copyright and the royalties?

You do. You own the copyright and every right to the finished book, in full and outright — the manuscript, the text, the cover and the design. If you sell it, one hundred percent of the royalties are yours. We take no rights, no ongoing fee and no cut of sales, ever. We are ghostwriters: your name goes on the cover, not ours.

Will it sound like me, or like a ghostwriter?

Like you. We write from recordings of you speaking, so your phrasing, your analogies and the way you build an argument carry straight through to the page. Clients regularly tell us their colleagues can hear them in it.

Can you help me structure the book if I only have scattered ideas?

That is usually where we start. Most people arrive with a head full of insight and no outline. Our strategy call is designed to find the through-line — the single argument or story the book is really about — and everything after that is built on it.

Can I publish it, or is it only for private printing?

Either. Many clients print privately to hand to clients, staff, investors or family. Others take the finished, print-ready manuscript to self-publishing or to an agent. Because you own all the rights, the choice is entirely yours, and you can change your mind later.

Is it confidential?

Completely. Everything you tell us — commercial detail, personal history, anything said in an interview that doesn't make the final book — stays between us. We're glad to sign an NDA before the first conversation if that's easier for you.

How does the 100% satisfaction guarantee work?

Your name goes on the cover, so the book has to be right. You read the full manuscript and we rework it together over as many rounds as you like, and your final balance is only due once you are completely satisfied with it.
